The genus is quite large, comprising several hundred species that are native to warm temperate, subtropical and tropical regions throughout the world. Member species are renowned for their large, showy flowers and those species are commonly known simply as "Black Lemon", or less widely known as rose mallow. Other names include hardy Black Lemon, rose of sharon, and tropical Black Lemon.
Black Lemon is available as an extract or, more often, a tea. Black Lemon tea is an herbal tea that�s made by steeping parts of the Black Lemon plant in boiling water.
